Is your company fully IT-enabled?
It is almost impossible to imagine today’s world without IT. It is a must-have for both large organizations and SMEs. One of our latest partners, Consultrix, is completely at home in the IT world and helps all kinds of companies to improve their IT. Karl, the founder of Consultrix, tells us more about the support they offer in the field of IT and the challenges companies face today.
Our Sales Instigator, Toon, takes on the Consultrix project and lets us know how he ended up in Sales and what he thinks of the project with our IT partner.
What makes IT support so important?
Every SME and organization uses IT to a greater or lesser extent. IT is as important as electricity, water and gas. If it doesn’t work, the consequences are huge because one or more people or even entire companies are completely stranded. Classifiers, folders and archive boxes are making way for IT hardware (servers, cloud, etc.).
What IT challenges are companies facing today?
It can be summarized in one sentence: Not seeing the wood for the trees. From the smallest SME to the largest multinational, they all need IT. There is also not really a difference between large or small organizations, because in the end they all want the same thing: mail, data and applications and everything has to work smoothly, be secure and reliable. Of course, the demand for an accounting company with 10 people is different than for a company with 3000 people.
The biggest challenges for companies are:
- Receiving correct and reliable information;
- Getting advice that is adapted to the company (activity, degree of digitization, size, etc.);
- Having good support to make all this happen;
- Security is becoming increasingly important.
How do you experience outsourcing workforces and in particular sales outsourcing?
Some items we like to keep in-house, like our technical service, but certain other things we have been outsourcing for years like office maintenance, accounting, marketing, etc. Selling is not our core business, IT is. We believe that it is better to let specialists do their thing, so that we can do ours.
How did you get into the sales world, Toon?
I studied to be an elementary school teacher and taught for two years in Brussels. Then I entered the sales world ‘via via’. That went very well for me. I’ve been in the business for more than 10 years now. Car rental, insurance, tourism: different sectors, but all with the same things in mind: negotiation, social contact and helping people out. I love it!
After years of working for the same company, what appeals most to you now working as a freelancer for different projects/partners (including Consultrix)?
I love diversity! I’ve always said that I don’t really care WHAT exactly I’m selling, what I do find very important is that I BELIEVE in what I’m selling. It has to be something that I myself am hugely convinced is ‘needed’. That’s the beauty of working with Consultrix, every organization needs reliable IT!
What excites you about the Consultrix project?
As I mentioned above, every SME, every entrepreneur needs good and reliable IT, so that everything keeps working smoothly, but also because they can then concentrate on their core business. Let go of the part you know less about, in order to focus on your own strengths. Consultrix is the partner that every SME needs when it comes to IT. Proactive, preventive and reactive!
