Pure indulgence! Over the past ten years, I\u2019ve visited ships many times, but I had never experienced an actual cruise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After a short three-hour flight to Athens, this luxury ship, with room for up to 500 passengers, was waiting for us in the port of Piraeus. Check-in went smoothly, the welcome was warm and, as befits a ship of this caliber, we were offered a glass of champagne. We were on our way!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Nothing is lacking on board: spacious suites measuring at least 35 m\u00b2, all with balconies and stunning sea views. Culinary delights abound with seven restaurants, six of which are \u00e0 la carte: French, Asian, Japanese, Italian... a world tour on your plate. The evening program begins with an aperitif in the piano bar, followed by dinner in one of the restaurants, a professional show in the theater, and a closing cocktail in the iconic Sansibar, the place to be on board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"284\" data-id=\"9049\" src=\"https:\/\/pitchperfect.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/HLC-1024x284.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9049\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pitchperfect.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/HLC-1024x284.png 1024w, https:\/\/pitchperfect.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/HLC-300x83.png 300w, https:\/\/pitchperfect.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/HLC-768x213.png 768w, https:\/\/pitchperfect.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/HLC-1536x427.png 1536w, https:\/\/pitchperfect.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/HLC-2048x569.png 2048w, https:\/\/pitchperfect.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/HLC-18x5.png 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On sea days, there is plenty of choice: relax in the 1,000 m\u00b2 Ocean Spa, work out in the state-of-the-art gym, or hit a ball on the golf simulator. Those seeking peace and quiet will find their place in the Belvedere or on the many sun decks, with fresh pastries, waffles, or iced coffee within easy reach. It's the little details that make the experience so great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Skiathos, Volos and Kavala<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Our route took us past picturesque Skiathos, famous for the Mamma Mia films, the port city of Volos, and charming Kavala. On the first day at sea, we sailed through the Dardanelles: peace and quiet, impressive views, and a beautiful region. A day at sea like this forces you to slow down and enjoy the ship to the fullest. To prepare us for Istanbul, an expert on board gave a lecture. This was a real added value, as it allowed us to discover so much more about the culture and history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"284\" src=\"https:\/\/pitchperfect.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/HLC-2-1024x284.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9050\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pitchperfect.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/HLC-2-1024x284.png 1024w, https:\/\/pitchperfect.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/HLC-2-300x83.png 300w, https:\/\/pitchperfect.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/HLC-2-768x213.png 768w, https:\/\/pitchperfect.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/HLC-2-1536x427.png 1536w, https:\/\/pitchperfect.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/HLC-2-2048x569.png 2048w, https:\/\/pitchperfect.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/HLC-2-18x5.png 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Istanbul<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The absolute highlight of this trip was Istanbul, the bustling metropolis on the Bosporus. Thanks to the central location of the EUROPA 2, you literally step ashore in the middle of the city. Excursions range from walks to bike rides and bus tours, always accompanied by experienced guides. The itinerary included the classics, of course: the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the underground Cistern, and Topkap\u0131 Palace\u2014crowded, but absolutely impressive. On the first evening, I went out on my own. With a little trepidation, admittedly, but it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. I strolled through the Grand Bazaar, sampled Turkish Delights in Fatih, discovered the lively Karak\u00f6y district, and enjoyed the magical evening atmosphere around the Galata Tower. Further up, Istiklal, the famous shopping street that leads to Taksim Square, the modern heart of the city, took me. Did you know that the shops there are open until midnight? This allowed me to discover even more hidden spots and gain more insight into the lives of the sultans. A guide really makes a difference, especially if you want to learn more about history. And on a bike, you simply see more in less time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When our ship left Istanbul at night, I became a little emotional. As we sailed down the Bosphorus, we enjoyed the view of the city lights, a true spectacle. I wiped away a tear, overcome with gratitude. Our last stop was the Cycladic island of Syros. We literally moored in the capital, just a five-minute walk from the center. It was Sunday, but the atmosphere was typically Greek: cozy bars overlooking the harbor, families drinking frapp\u00e9s together and enjoying fragrant gyros. Intimate, authentic, and charming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A perfect end to a ten-day voyage aboard the EUROPA 2. Hapag-Lloyd Cruises stands for luxury, top-notch service, and gastronomic highlights, but always in a relaxed, casual atmosphere.
