Some 30 odd years ago we lived in an entirely different world in which technology had not yet taken the upperhand and sales was nearly entirely transactional. I have a product you need and you don’t have many other options than to buy from me. Seller-product-customer-principle with the focus on making a quick sale with no emphasis on learning the actual difficulty your customer is facing and how your product or service can resolve that issue.
